This includes battlefields you have visited and those you have not yet seen. My picks:
Gettysburg (Been there many times and IMO the best battlefield in the world)
The Alamo (Been there and loved it, although it's not really a battlefield)
Little Bighorn (Really want to visit)
Waterloo (Really want to visit)
Isandlwana (Really want to visit)
Normandy (Really want to visit)
Monmouth (Been there, and it was the best Rev War battlefield I've been to, and that's saying something given that it is a state park)

Antietam – better than Gettysburg in my opinion

Been To and Enjoyed-

Hastings (which is ironically in Battle, not hastings). I was fairly impressed and was amazed by the historical impact of such a small area.

Gettysburg- the whole town is the battlefield, with so much to see and do.

Want To See-

Pearl Harbor (especially the Arizona memorial).

I really want to see Port Arthur and Mukden, but neither is really a tourist destination, so you really have to want to go there and it's not like I have lots of chances to pop off to the edges of China.

Seelowe Heights- amazing battlefield and battle.

Culloden every time.

panzerCDR23 Feb 2017 2:02 p.m. PST

Gettysburg – Best ACW battlefield in my humble opinion.
Antietam – Walking the terrain led to many "ah ha!" moments.
Shiloh – Small area makes the battle much more understandable.
Normandy – Its great but very big. Requires multiple days to see major points and I am sure my visit only hit the top points (Omaha, Utah, Sword beaches, Pegasus bridge, Merville Battery, Villers Bocage). Would love to go back.
Market Garden – Car trip through Holland. I really want to do this.
Battle of the Bulge – Bastogne/St. Vith. Another on my bucket list.

Being more serious than my original post, Koniggratz is an amazing field. For one of the most important battles in European history, with almost 450,000 participants, it is little known, and yet the field is easily accessible and substantially unchanged. It does have some monuments, but not on the scale of Gettysburg. The villages are now beginning to grow, but places like the Swiepwald are still incredibly atmospheric. I have spent many, many days on this field, and always find something new to investigate. Combine this with the hospitality of the locals, and the good food and drink, and decent accommodation in the towns such as Hradec Kralove, and it is a great place to visit.

Perryville…most pristine ACW battlefield.
Antietam – Coolest in the East
Gettysburg – Iconic, even those not that interested can enjoy this park
Chickamauga – an amazing park, IF you get out and walk
Fort Donelson but with someone who knows the areas not covered by the park
Cowpens
Shiloh (on the 2018 to do list but I hear folks love it)
Jumonville and Fort Necessity…where the First World War started

King's mountain(AWI) because it is atmospheric. You can walk in the steps of the men that were there. Easy to "read" the battlefield. nice museum too.

Alcibiades23 Feb 2017 2:41 p.m. PST

Waterloo (Been there twice; most recently for the bicentennial)
Vimy (a most significant moment in the independence of Canada)
Ortona (urban fighting in a sea side town. At the very least get some delicious fresh seafood and a glass of red)
Juno to Caen
Gettysburg
Little Big Horn (visited as a child after seeing "They Died with Their Boots On" and becoming obsessed with Custer. It was way cool then and I understand it has gotten much more tourist friendly since as a result of First Nation participation)

Kent

As an afterthought, I could just say Italy. Cannae, Trasimene, Heraclea through to Anzio, the Gothic and Hitler Lines, Cassino…the list goes on. So, battlefields galore to explore, amazing cuisine and wine, beautiful countryside and women. I don't suspect many of the battlefields have been preserved but one could, at the very least, walk where Hannibal, Belisarius, and a host of other major historical figures have walked.

Seeing how big some of the replies are, I want to add some more onto my list. I really like all the answers I am getting and some battlefields I have never heard of sound really interesting.
On my list of must sees:
Thermopylae
Bastogne
Palo Alto
Culloden
Big Hole
Kalkriese/Teutoburg Forest
Some good ones I have been to:
Antietam
Shiloh
Fredericksburg

Gettysburg – Been there many a time.
Antietam – Prefer it over Gettysburg but they scaled back the gift store book selection. Used to be huge!
Juno Beach, Normandy – On my bucket list
Waterloo – Actually had the opportunity to reenact on it.
Vimy Ridge – Hope to get there in a few years.
Dieppe – Hope to see this painful (to me) town. Just a terrible disaster for the Canadians.

Northern Syria would be interesting.

AICUSV04 May 2020 3:27 p.m. PST

Of all the battlefields I've visited, Bull Run (I'm a Yankee) was the one that I learned the most from. Looking an maps and reading descriptions of the battle didn't make things as clear to me as putting my boots on the actual ground.

My favorite battle field to visit is Crooked Billet (AWI) – my house is there.
