I bought a copy of FRAN KARL KNUTSSON TIL KRISTINA last week from "On Military Matters". I stayed up very late reading it. And I am very impressed with the scope and detail in the book. I especially appreciated the English translation published by OMM. Daniel S. is quite correct that without the translation it would be very hard to achieve an accurate understanding of the details.

Only complaint is that some of the drawings are primitive, but the "word" information and descriptions are a real treasure. Especially when you realize that there is not a lot of info in English. If you really like the Swedes in 30YW, buy the book. And if English (or Texan) is your native tongue make sure you buy it from OMM.

Would be obliged if you could give a short review on the information provided on the early 16th century (up to 1550).

Puster,
There is not much pre-1550 information, the army was small at the time and not many documents have survived. You get a few examples of the colour of the cloth issued to make flags and uniforms but not much more.

Most of the 16th Century information is from the 1554-1570 period.

Thanks. Alas, I kind of expected that.
