I do use Windsor and Newton Series 7 brushes. Just to get that out of the way.

But they only go down to 3/0. What would you guys recommend for a high-end brush that is comparable to W&N in 5//0 and 10/0?

I've actually had good luck with the Army Painter 'Insane Detail' and 'Psycho' brushes. I was skeptical at first, but they are proving to be my go-to brushes for detailing.

Can you actually get any paint on a 10/0?

I don't think I've ever even seen one!

I use Reapers sables in 5/0 I don't use 10/0 for anything.

I'll second the Army Painter "Insane and Psycho" brushes they hold up fairly well don't curl on the end. I really like the handle on them, the 3 sided handle is very comfortable to hold. I also use the W&N series 7 brushes.

You have to be careful on the Reaper brushes – and be sure to get the actual Reaper Kolinlsky sables. They last a lot longer than the regular Reaper Pro Paint brushes. I use 5/0, 10/0 and 20/0.

I have a W&N 7 000 – it is really really small and I don't honestly think you will get a brush that can paint finer detail

It is so small paint dries very quickly on it so I hardly ever use it.

Thanks for the input. I've used the Army painter brushes, and liked them. Not a great fan of the handle, but I can live with it.

I bought a 10-0 and and 18-0 (!) Artist Loft sable at my local Michael's today. We'll see how that goes.

I also ordered a 3-0 Series 7, just to see what it was like. 5-0 was always my go-to brush for 18mm Napoleonics and ACW, but I'll see if the finer point does what I need.
