My mate Dan painted these for me and an awesome job he did indeed!!
He also did the necessary conversion work on the saddle covers so that they would sport the correct white sheepskins.
The figures are the AB 15/18mm Prussian Jena-Auerstadt era Hussars in Mirlitons painted up as the famous French Hussards de Mort from the campaigns of the revolutionary wars.
Dan (aka Gunner Dunbar) even did the little skull and bones on the upper arms!
I know he posted some WIP photos of them a while back, but I felt like sharing them again now that I got them based. These look even better in real life!!

Yupp, railway ballast always. Saves me the first layer of paint since it comes in dark brown;)
