My moribund blog has come back to life, with 18 posts in the last two days. These cover the Franco-Prussian campaign that the Corlears Hook Fencibles have been playing for the last year. We play most of the battles of that war using the Bloody Big Battles rules and scenarios. Many of the "victories" mean doing better than that side did in the actual battle, rather than changing the strategic situation. Our method of rewarding a win is give that side a free re-roll in the next game. Most times it has been forgotten in the heat of battle. Last game it was used, and the re-roll was as bad as the first roll. We have two more battles to complete the war. So far the Prussians have won 6 battles, the French have won 3, and 3 were ties. The blog's most recent post is here link A picture from the battle of Froeschwiller 1870
