So far the main scale for my laser-cut HDF building kits has been 28mm. But being asked repeatedly if I could do kits in 15mm too I am wondering what kind of detailing of the interior would be needed or wanted? All my 28mm kits have interior door and window frames, stairs, engraved floors and such. Is that needed in 15mm too? It would be great to get your input on that! Thanks in advance, Joerg thingsfromthebasement.com |

While some interior detailing might be nice, for me, it all boils down to the price, and how much it will be seen, and/or covered up. Perhaps offering interior detailing and parts as a separate option, might be a good idea. Most of the time, the roofs will be on, so I suspect it really isn't needed, at least by me, for intact buildings. For those that are partially destroyed, with roofs blown off, and walls damaged, interior detailing would be more appropriate, since then you can see it clearly. |

I don't use 15mm interiors. In fact I even glue the roofs on all my 15mm buildings, except for really large ones like the industrial MBA buildings. I just abstract interiors as a cover level. Using detailed interiors at 15mm is just too much of a hassle for me. For 28mm skirmish detailed interiors are great. |

In 15mm it's an unrequired cost burden. |

Thanks for your answers so far. I hoped/thought interior detailing might be unnecessary in 15mm. Would make things a lot easier and cheaper. But do you still want to be able to put troops inside a building? On each level in multi-story buildings? Stairs or no stairs? |

Yup, no detail necessary. I use the interiors because I hate having troops on the roof, or having to pull the building off the table and replaced with an outline. No stairs (too fiddly), but make the floors "stackable." Even better make one side removable for access in addition to ehroof. |

The ability to fit a FoW infantry base inside would be one of my requirements, but I'm only one of hundreds of potential customers. |

Having the options might be nice, especially for skirmish games, with individually based figures. |

Thanks, guys! All your comments give me an idea already. Looks like I can simplify my interior designs for 15mm. Just have to make sure that units can be placed inside and multi story buildings are stackable (as my 28mm). I might give it a try in the future… Joerg |
