Three Armies
Many thanks – those standing French are excellent and I will certainly get some.
I love "standing around" pose figs – I've ranted about it on here before. I think most Nap troops spent most of the time at most battles doing exactly that ( despite all the charging cavalry figs )
It's the Brits I'm really interested in – I'm always looking for reenforcements for my project ( link )

Will the Brits be "standing around" too?

Three Armies28 Feb 2017 2:50 p.m. PST

Lord hill

Glad you like the French.

Yes the British figures will be getting the same treatment too lol. Initially I have ordinary Marching Brits for release in April, the 'greens' are on the site.

But Standing around Brits is a definite. "Hurry up and wait" was always our nickname for the Army life. lol

Also one thing I have in progress is Brits in Greatcoats as these are sadly lacking anywhere, and you cant tell me the Brits didn't wear greatcoats in 100 days campaign!

Love your web page and I too share your fear of painting tartan lol.

Please bookmark my site to keep updated. I will be updating the British page next week.

Got mine and they look Great !!

Well the evidence is definitely against the Greatcoats for the "British" in the 1815 campaign, even if it is regrettable and daft in retrospect. It should not have been like that in June, in Belgium…..but it can be….!It was……….

They had no choice. They were told to leave them behind…..blankets on their backpacks yes……but not a coat to be seen.

Do not let this stop you. If you want to do Heavy cavalry in cloaks/coats…at rest…in the rain…there are those who would bite your hand off….everyone else does them charging and seizing the only two colours/eagles they did manage to capture

Three Armies05 Mar 2017 4:43 a.m. PST

Heavy horse Thank you. Glad you like them.

Deadhead, well I didn't know that. I'm sure they could be used in the Peninsular which will tie in nicely with my spanish range.

Cavalry in greatcoats is a must.

I did convert some Saxon Cavalry from Perry plastics and did the long coats because I wanted them.

The Saxon conversions are superb. I have always loved the Garde du Corps look and I did invest in some from Eureka a few years ago. Not too many alternatives of real quality in 28mm, but I would never have imagined a conversion from the Perry Plastics. It had just crossed my mind as potential with new British Household coming soon.

This is brilliant work. The conversion, let alone the painting. Adding the cloaks to some was a masterstroke. These massively deserve a separate posting. A few of the best images, in the Gallery.

This will knock them dead.

Three Armies05 Mar 2017 6:13 a.m. PST

Deadhead feell free to share that link, it's very old work now. I will probably get around to some late saxons too and as is obvious the saxon heavies are a favorite.

Tango does post other folks' work, providing all the links and no-one seems to mind, indeed many welcome the publicity. This I really do want to broadcast.

Three Armies05 Mar 2017 7:41 a.m. PST

how do I get pictures to post on TMP? I see you did it with my link on another post but all it says when I do it is 'link' lol

Personal logo deadhead Supporting Member of TMP05 Mar 2017 8:27 a.m. PST

You have to invest in some kind of photo sharing system. Not expensive, but basically some kind of commercial set up that allows you to save pictures with a link that you then cut and paste to any message you put onto TMP.

I saved some of your pictures and posted onto a sharing set up. Your pictures are now part of "My Saxons" album, which is a shamelessly untrue claim! I did not insert the pictures, I inserted a link to them. The pictures come up on screen. I can also insert a link to the whole album to show my version of the Saxons, slightly converted Eureka as very slender figures I felt. Not to your class by far…..
imageshack.com/a/JDaz/1

I used ImageShack as originally recommended by TMP. Many use Flickr as well.

It means a small subscription per year and is well worth it. I suspect there are many free ones frankly. As you say, the benefit is to have a picture come up, not just a link on your message.

Figures like you are showing, you currently rely on folk following the link you created. Put a picture onto the posting…obvious advantage.

Happy to post anything for you if you want!

liamdotfloodatnhsdotnet…work it out. Never put your e mail on here (anywhere) "en Claire"

I now see you have survived twins too. In our house St Pat's Day is a very memorable event, with two lad hitting 22 years of age in a few weeks!

Liam

Thanks for the tip

Will look into that image shack stuff, will help a lot with pictures on here, but first I need to get on to painting some of my OWN figures not just other peoples and Perrys lol

Yes I have older Irish girls and now have twin Welsh ones for my troubles, not survived yet they are only 8 and I have to do it all on my own. I really should lay off the Celtic women lol All keeps me on my toes. ;)

I wish I had been gay…..you may think I am joking…. I would be a much wealthier man now.

My gay friends are much better off. Divorces are so much cheaper.

Getting this pic of your 1815 figures onto this forum took me about 90 seconds

picture

Do the 1812 Saxons…it is what everyone really wants. Several years early shows great integrity….but not commercial sense

Three Armies05 Mar 2017 5:22 p.m. PST

My plan is to do both. ;)

But first I need to sell what I have!

Tough balance, like chicken or egg, or even gay vs straight. lol know what you mean. ;)

Thanks for loading the picture, will get on that soon, need painted stuff badly tbh.

Three Armies19 Nov 2017 12:39 p.m. PST

EEJET (an Irish expression)

We have this Christian Festival coming up, where commercialism has run mad, with offspring and the distaff side asking what we want in our stockings……

Suddenly these superbly modelled figures are promised…by the Russian lot and you…..might be too much for the dice throwers….but for the button counters(in TOTS)…….Oh yes….

Three Armies19 Nov 2017 5:25 p.m. PST

eejit indeed, it may interest you to know i am from inniskillin stock and I was married to a 'lady' from Trim Co Meath Wellington country! But my passport says I'm British as my mother gave birth in London lol. And yes I did vote to 'take back control' and no regrets either, despite doing most of my business outside of the UK. ;) f it helps I'm partaking in the 'Colonial' tradition of 'Black Friday' which should help you get your TOTS on order at a good price before the fat bloke comes down your chimney and scoffs all your mince pies. ')

Lord Hill20 Nov 2017 4:38 p.m. PST

Great news about upcoming British figs, should be a nice Christmas present to myself (if I manage to ignore your confession of being a Leaver!)

Any pics to keep us going until they're available?

18th Century Guy Supporting Member of TMP22 Nov 2017 5:52 p.m. PST

I would love it if you could do early Saxons to go along with your early Prussians.
Not too many people make early Saxons but you can use them up through the 1809 campaign.

von Winterfeldt23 Nov 2017 12:03 a.m. PST

"Not too many people make early Saxons but you can use them up through the 1809 campaign."

Not really, differences in equipment and how the coat was carried, in 1806 a sort of "smock" was carried over the uniform, the grenadiers with grenadier caps in linen cover

Three Armies23 Nov 2017 2:14 a.m. PST

yes chaps Early Saxons are marching on the way for spring in the new year. :)
