My latest modern battle report, with a US SOF element compromised while on a recon mission on the outskirts of Mosul. Fair to middling size gunfight with ISIS. link And, a link to my collection of Iraq battle reports, with skirmishes in three phases of the conflict there (initial invasion, occupation, rise of ISIS). link |

Reports were great to read, terrain and minis are good too, but is it me or did most battles seem one sided? and insurgent casualties very high? |

Very one-sided whenever d6 Troop Quality (TQ) insurgents face off against d10 TQ elites, or when the dice don't go their way. I've got a game to post where the insurgents inflicted enough casualties that we gave the Americans reinforcements after turn 1, so it's definitely possible for the insurgents to win. They just have a small margin of error, and Fog of War cards can derail them at critical times. This is a good example: link Want to fight that one out again and see what happens. |

Finally got the game I was referring to posted – US forces lose a fire team up front and another at the end of this AAR. Sometimes you eat the bear, sometimes the bear eats you: link Also added to my Iraq battle report page: link |
