While walking on a market where people are selling their garage contents I found a pile of Funcken books: the age of chivalry 1-3 The lace wars 1-2 The napoleonic wars 1-2 18cent to the present day 1-2 Although I already own the napoleonic volumes, a total of 37 euro I couldn't resist for the whole collection. More then 40 years old but still a pleasure to read. |

Score! Love my napoleonic ones: got them twenty-eight years ago as a teenager. |

A great find. The Napoleonic book one and book two are one of my mainstay – or go-to reference books. Tony |

If in good condition the Chivalry set is worth ~£150 (200 Euros). Lace wars – £75.00 GBP a volume I've seen before. So – good find. |

None though in my opinion are as well illustrated as the Lace Wars 1 & 2 with the one or two humorous sketches in them, like the British dragoon winking at the artist and the Prussian almost getting his head blown off for example….Excellent stuff and well done on a great find. Paul :) |

Great find. What a bargain. I've told my family not to sell my books off by the kilogram when I'm dead. |

I keep saying I'll mark up the valuable ones with photospots. |

What a find! I have to agree with Dibble: The Lace Wars are my favorite too. |
