This is a try out of a British infantryman in waterproof smock wearing the Mk 3 helmet in 20mm.
A pic a bit closer to actual size

Nice, and, bye-the-bye, there does seem to be a general shortage of British and so Canadian Inf in the later helmet. |

Awfully nice work Leon. If I could paint like that I would n't loath painting, but I can't, so I do. |

uglyfatbloke, I'm an average painter, I design figures so even I can paint them well lol Personally think painting with acrylics requires more skill than I have hence I take the easy option and stick to enamels and oil washes. Robhb1, yes its odd not more done given the campaign in Holland in the winter of 44 and into 45. This is one of two Allied projects working on at the mo alongside finishing the 'lehr' dress range and some other style Germans. L |

Good work there Leon. I think it's easy to miss the detail and quality on the sculpting in those pictures. Maybe a pre shaded version would be clearer. Quicker and easier than painting em "proper" colours. |

There are pitifully few 20mm CW figures available for winter 44/45…would love to see more…smocks, leather jerkins, woolly gloves and hats…even greatcoats are sorely under-represented compared to the plethora of Normandy types |

christot, Well its economics I'm afraid, we did DAK tank cew and 'lehr' style figures for our first releases thinking we would do something a little out of the box. Despite the 'lehr' dress being probably the most common dress variation by 43 in Heer motorised units and the DAK being in standard 'tropical' dress and therefore suitable for Southern Russia, Scily and Italy I have heard the 'I'm not doing the Lehr div in Normandy ' or 'I'm not doing Afrika Korps' a large number of times. Its very dissapointing, thought the knowledge base would be broader. I have back burnered the Heer smock range because I know its going to be pidgeon holed as 21st Panzer in Normandy despite the uniform being in widespread use. If we were relying on 20mm to make money at this stage ( early days mind you)we would be seriously thinking about dropping the whole project. Andy ONeill, Thanks for that. Yes a black washed figure easier to pick out details but I did want to check that the details on this would be discernable even under a coat of camo. Normally do a black washed figure as well but in this case its partly original design work so no cast figures. L |

Maybe 'relabel' your PzLehr figures as '43-45 Heer figures, suitable for many/most other Wehrmacht formations. I have found that if you label stuff specifically, lots of buyers can't see past that at all!! Nice Tommies too, suitable for Korea too…… |
