Another YouTube Russian movie made in 2003 I watched, ran 1hr and 49 minutes or so. It tells of the life of Paul I from death of Elizabeth to this own.It is a facinating part to me of the early Napoleoic age in Russia. The costumes and settings are very good and thought the acting was as well. The bad part is while English subtitled it isn't in sync with the movie, commentators thought it is way ahead in beginning and it is definitely far behind towards the end.But if you are a Russophile you may want to take a look at the beginning at least when he is on the parade ground. |

Thank you for telling us about this film; I will check this out shortly. I'm interested to see how sympathetic modern Russian filmmakers are to Paul I. |
