Well I am well and truly invested in 3d printing these days, after many trial and tribulations I have learned a lot. I have to say that 3d printing is really not quite ready for the masses, there are so many silly problems that one must learn to deal with to get a successful print, normal people don't have the time or patience to muddle through. But, if you have patience and are willing to learn and have decent mechanical aptitude some truly amazing things can be done. Here are some pictures of stuff I have been messing with.

Some 1/220 scale T34-85 tanks. Yes, I know one of the barrels is missing from the turrets, it was dropped right before I took the picture and the hard plastic broke. I made these because I wanted to see how small I could go and still have decent quality. I love Adlers 8mm WW2 infanty but they are really too large for 1/300 and 1/285 vehicles. So 1/220 scale is just about perfect for 8mm size infantry, also GHQs infantry is actually scaled to 1/220 and though they are nice they too are over large for the vehicles for me. So now I know that I can do vehicles that are scaled correctly for the small scale figures that I adore. As for the gun barrels the plastic is easily glued back but the best solution I think is to cut the barrels off and use a pin vise to drill a hole and place piano wire in there. The hard plastic is super easy to drill into.

A 1937 Dodge coupe, people are always asking for WW2 civilian vehicles so I did this to see how it would turn out.

Here is a T28 gun motor carriage alongside a T72, both 1/100 scale. I did this after watching the Girls und Panzer der Movie film.

People seem to have a hard time wrapping their head around the fact that with 3d printing you can scale your files. Here is a 1/72 T28 with the 1/100 T28 with a 1/100 Citroen 15CV sedan for scale. It looks like a mommy T28 out for a drive with her young one.

Here is a dodge ambulance for WW2 in 1/48 scale that one of our fellow TMPers bought from me then kindly sent this painted image. I think he did a great job and it shows how these look once painted.

Some science fiction vehicles in 1/100 scale although some of them are so big they could easily pass for 1/72. I thought these would tickle peoples fancy but so far no one has shown the least bit of interest in them, doh!

The Frobe mobile, just what you need for the Zombie apocalypse or your Mad Maxx apocalyptic wastelands.

Bashy, are you keeping your filament in a dry spot before and after use? Filament is really susceptible to humidity, and I find I get far more consistent prints when I keep my filament in a box with desiccant.

I live in Las Vegas, you can't get away from dry.

My 3D printer came today! So far I've done a set of jersey barriers, a park bench, and a generator – and a couple of screw up that we won't mention.

Are the models from Thingverse? I think recognize a couple of them.

Not sure how you get away with simplke scaleing. If for instance you scaled up my Unimog the 1mm thick mudguard would become 2mm thick at 1/72 and look stupid. hence the need to modify. If you did it right at 1/72 it would be unprintable at 1/144 as it would be too thin to print.

My method of scaling is a trade secret, hehe.

I have some 1/72 tanks from Bashytubits. They're excellent models, I'm completely satisfied with the product I was provided (at a quite reasonable cost too boot).

Your work looks pretty awesome! Any Chance you any "Orky" items to go with your other 40k stuff?

Bashytubits02 Mar 2017 7:52 p.m. PST

I have no idea what "orky" looks like, so if you could point me in the right direction I am sure I could cobble something together.

These would be 'orky':
