Cool. I look forward to seeing what you do on the blog. I remember very fondly running the first Twilight game off of the dot matrix printout provided by GDW. I still might have a couple of he Roco trucks I used.

The scenario books were great reads by themselves .

One of the scenario books could have got me arrested. I went around Krakow taking photos of places which our game had taken us to.
Trouble is, as I using my camera along the river where a railway station was marked in the campaign book, I turned around to see lots of 'no photography' signs. It wasn't a railway station – the tracks were for supplying the rather large depot of, I think, the Air-Mechanized corps.
Oops.

Hahah swampster – I appreciate your dedication to gaming. :)

Looks like a fun project. I read and re-read those books in the 80s. Really great stuff.

Awesome idea, and I will be following with interest. Several of us played T2000 when it came out decades ago, and seeing something done along miniatures lines could be cool.

Fun times…

I remember cracking the box open and reading the rules for the first time. 1984. Miami University Middletown campus library.

I think Dances with Clydesdales was there with me.

This really takes me back. The first work I ever had published were RPG scenarios for Merc:2000 in Challenge.

Ooooh yes, we played the heck out of TW2k! I had several characters not make it over the years… Looking forwards to this one!

Cool project! TW2K was a great game, and could be very unforgiving. I recall one end of campaign epsiode that made my character the sole survivor -- tooling along in our captured BTR, we can see a safe haven up ahead and the GM, for whatever reason, decided to spring an ATG ambush on us for one last dramatic flourish. Several PCs up top on look out, only my PC made the spotting roll but didn't have an MG to use against the ATG crew, so all my PC can do is yell a warning and jump clear after the driver fumbles his maneuver and awareness rolls. Caught totally flatfooted. BOOM! My PC staggers to friendly lines, goodbye rest of squad. really sucked. We all looked at the GM, really pissed -- he's like, who said you ever get to let your guard down in this game?

Ooh, cool! Love the idea, and will be following with interest.

Read your post on rules for gaming the T:2000 conflict with. What about the "Last Battle" mass combat rules module GDW released for it?

I will be addressing Last Battle and AH's Firepower as boardgames suitable for conversion to miniatures.

For those who would like to know Far Future Enterprise has all the Twilight 2000 stuff on a cd-rom.

Just a kind of one stop shop sort a thing.

I have always wanted to play out the book series "The Guardians" by Richard Austin, using these rule only with a little large team other then just four men.
