I have a bunch of what I believe are Ral Partha 1979 10mm or 15mm Fantasy figures. Anyone know if Ral Partha made 10mm fantasy? I have orcs, elves, humans.

Cool. So it appears they are rather rare. Couldn't find many pictures of them. |

Did those come before or after 15mm Battlesystem from Ral Partha? |

Before. Ral Partha didn't have the TSR license until 1987 |

Here is the backstory. There was 2 shops I used to go to back in 1970's. One was called the Little Soldier in Alexandria, VA and the other one was The Complete Strategists in Falls Church, VA. The Little Soldier was amazing, clean and always fun to go to. The problem was it was pretty far away, so I only went there a few times. The Complete Strategist was always in disarray, very messy and dark. The manager or owner working there was a very large obese man. I never saw him stand. He would just sit behind the counter and ring you up when you were done. He never really spoke and was a bit on the scary side, at least to me. Anyway at some point I picked up these figures. I always thought they were a little ahead of their time. The sculpts were quite good for that time period. Before I left for college, I pretty much gave all my miniatures away to a friend. Just a few years ago the friend sent me a package containing a ton of figures I had given him. These were in that group. |

MiniatureReview: Funny that you mention Compleat Strategeist in Falls Church. I used to visit that shop in the early 2000s, it had the same owner, same organization and probably much of the same stock as you saw in the 70s. The owner's disposition didn't change too much either, he wasn't particularly friendly. However, they had a large selection of Ospreys and some hard to find rules and older magazines. The problem was the store reeked of pungent odor so I would place dryer sheets in between the pages of the books I purchased to get the stink off of them. Funny that we had much of the same experiences in the store decades apart. |

That is hilarious. I seem to remember him sometimes using a cane or something to ring things up. I think that was one of the reasons you never saw girls/women in the store. |
