Uh. Do we consider 90's "Old School?" |

I was thinking the same thing. I guess I'm just real old old school. |

I started gaming in the early 90s and I don't consider 90s old school for fantasy miniatures. When we consider that d&d started the high demand for fantasy minis well then I would say 70s to early 80s is true old school. Around 83 things seemed to really be changing in style and size. Part of this may be due to the success of the d&d red box and the introduction of Warhammer fantasy battles. |

Most states define an automobile as a "classic" if it is 20 or more years old. It's not a bad starting point. Kinda like how "Star Wars" is an old movie (2017 – 1977 = "I should have saved more for retirement"). |

But are classic and old school the same thing. Is old school a term that moves with age? We have definite recordings of the beginning of popularity for fantasy miniatures and it is deeply tied with Dungeons & Dragons. I feel the same way with comics terms golden age and silver age. Those terms represent specific years, not age. |

I thought it had more to do with style. The style isn't current, I'd guess. Really old school style isn't much to be excited about. OK, I hit the goblin or elf or wolfman or whatever that lump is. :) (I'm kidding. Lots weren't that, of course.) andy |
