Heavy Gear vehicles are so darn expensive. I was wondering if some of the DZC vehicles would work. So tempted to get some Shaltari light Grav Tanks and try it out. Anyone tried it?

I haven't tried it but I think it would:

A) Work.

B) Look excellent.

If your talking the current line of HG then you should be fine. They are about the same scale being only slightly off. And in the end, size and scales of things that aren't really is subjective anyway. Enjoy

Thanks guys. Experimenting with giving the game some variety. HG needs something like horrifying face eating aliens to freshen it up.

That is a great idea. Please post your findings.

Nyet, though I'm working on some Dropzone-ish type games in 15mm, with various kit.

Generally speaking, in my experience … most Sci-fi models can be used with any rules set. Just so the scales are about the same. You just have to decide what is a proxy for what. If you don't want to do new stats.

I don't mind new stats. HG has tons of weapons already so that's not a problem. Pick a like chassis and build a vehicle.

HG is combined arms. Having a few cheap face eaters (thinking something like trained attack dogs) adds a new element. Move fast, melee hard, no weapons, dodging. You don't want to waste a heavy weapon on one, but you don't want it to close either. Good at picking off scouts/recon and isolated gears or as a forlorne hope. Set them lose and watch them tear across the board as a sacrifice while you maneuver behind them. Lots of them together is a horde army. Something like Scourge Prowlers, a "Squid" from The Matrix, Starship Troopers Terror Mites or some kind of chaos hound (Warmaster).

Tank is a tank. You might as well get a sculpt you really like and long as the scale is close.

Just found the Khurasan Miniatures website. Gonna spend some money there.

Yes, I agree … with all the Sci-fi models out there. Especially in the scale I use, 6mm [or even other scales]. You have a lot to choose from.
