Is that mount what is called a 'carriage slide'? "If equipped with a carriage-slide, the carronade will hardly recoil at all, meaning it doesn't have to be run back into position between shots and can manage a brisk rate of fire. " |

If you go to the section "Kawiti's Carronade" on this page, you'll be looking at the very gun that I presume Empress modelled their carronade on: link Māori had quite an extensive collection of artillery in the 19th century – around 165 individual pieces have been identified in this book alone: link |
