Afternoon gents, so recently i've been toying with the idea of getting into some modern naval models, not necesserly for wargaming. I've done a fair bit of research myself but i'm now torn between 1/3000 and 1/2400. I'm looking at getting some up to date ships from the japanese navy. So gents is there any companies or a paticular scale you'd recommend? Also im from the uk so uk suppliers would be preferable. Cheers |

If you are in the UK and want UK suppliers that pretty much zeroes you in to 1/3000, which then means Skytrex, Navwar or Denian Models. I have extensive fleets featuring models from all of these, Denian being the most detailed. |

Shapeways have all kinds of ultra modern 1/3000 ships that are for some reason the most economically priced of all the scales…cheaper than 1/2400 or 1/6000…and they match up with all the above mentioned brands quite well. |

If you want collectibles rather than gaming models I would go with GHQ. My collectables however are 1/1200 and my gaming models 1/3000 as David M mentioned. |
