Looks pretty dodgy to me. Any trailer that starts out "This is NOT propaganda" is unlikely to be anything else.

Agreed, too bad because it honestly looks like they spent a penny or two on this effort, but if the message is what I even think it could be; then it's wrong!

It might be a decent film. I'm not going to condemn it before I see it. Looks better than some of the jingoistic nonsense (or even worse, Fury, cough cough) films we made here in the US – or just about any bit of Jingoistic nonsense out of Russia lately.

Definitely a wait and see.

I think the "propaganda" statement is to get around legal restrictions in some jurisdictions.

I bought this last year on DVD as it wasn't too expensive. On the plus side the uniforms and equipment look good. On the minus side it is a blatant attempt to show the Waffen SS as just any other soldier and not at all fanatical or racist to the extent of having the lead character try to help a Jewish family. Anyone who doesn't know the history of the Leibstandarte will get a very distorted picture about it. Had they chosen a regular Wehrmacht unit it would have been more palatable.

Hmmm, that was exactly the vibe the trailer gave me. Even the title implies that instead of being honourable, i.e. observing the rules of war (such as they are at least) I put before it loyalty, i.e. obeying my orders.

Actually I've looked it up while writing this; "Meine Ehre heißt Treue" was an SS motto (that may be known to WW2 buffs, but I wasn't aware), and the phrase is banned in Germany along with lots of other Nazi stuff, so I guess that helps explain the disclaimer at the start. Presumably it can't get released in Germany under that title anyway.
