I'm generally a big fan of Old Glory's slightly larger 15mm (18mm) Blue Moon ranges. This includes their AWI infantry and artillery. Unfortunately, I discovered to my dismay that the cavalry for this range are tiny in comparison to the larger-sized foot figures. They look like little children on ponies. Does anyone know of another manufacturer that offers larger-sized 15mm (18mm) AWI cavalry that would be a better fit with my Blue Moon foot figures? Thanks, Don |

@ PVT641- the old Glory " Age of Reason" cavalry are even smaller than the Blue Moon, the horses are absolutely minute- about 10 to 12 hands if in scale to the men. Riders are OK. Might be worth getting AB horses and remounting the Blue Moon riders. The AB Napoleonic light dragoon in Tarleton might do for Tarleon's Legion cavalry. Eureka do a nice range of 7YW cavalry, which includes British cavalry. The light dragoon in helmet looks good and might pass for AWI British and American but there are no actual Americans in the range. Fortunately not a lot of cavalry in AWI. |

I know when I was collecting Blue Moon for GNW, you could ask them for their newer larger horses when you ordered to replace the original sized horses they started out using for their ranges. Those horses are larger. I think it makes a discernible difference on the table. I do love Blue Moon figs though so I'm biased. But yes the original horses were more like ponies. |

The Eureka SYW British dragoons do look really good. Thanks for the tip, dave47! |

If you can, I would suggest that you ask Blue Moon if they will give you some of their new ECW horses – these are the best they have produced so far (although to be fair, the two previous sets were awful, the oldest one being too small [as mentioned] and the other – brought out for their Napoleonics I think – used poses that no horse could achieve naturally, with legs sticking out at all angles, or folded back on themselves). |
