Hello collective brain.

Looking to get some British dragoons in bicorn for my Peninsular War force (edit, mostly Perry, Warlord, Victrix with some Front Rank). Have found a few manufactures on line, with some ropey pictures in some cases, but only seen one company's product in the flesh so was looking for comments, suggestions, other manufacturers etc.

Would prefer bicorns being worn fore and aft as I believe this was more likely when on campaign.

Those manufacturers I have found with figures in this configuration are:
Redoubt
Front Rank
Elite
Brigade Games (although mould currently being repaired apparently)

Manufacturers with bicorns worn transversely:
Eagle
MiniFigs

Any comments, reviews welcomed.

Thanks
Tony.

Front Rank, nice chunky figures and good horses. Depends what the rest of your collection is though as to whether they will blend in. Bicorn would be worn fore and aft as you suggest, try wielding a sword any other way.

I agree that Front Rank are very good. They should mix on the table with most figures if they are kept in their own unit. Personally I like the Brigade Games figures that fit in better with the Perrys I have. Pity about the mold. Personally I am hoping that, given the plethora of early British Napoleonic figures the Perrys are producing, heavy cavalry (metal or plastic) will not be far away.

@Artilleryman, Warlord are doing plastic Heavies later this year but looks like being post 1812 helmets.

As has been pointed out to me elsewhere I have missed Wargames Foundry's dragoons in bicorn as sculpted by the Perrys.

I understood the infantry would change the facing of the bicorn depending on what they were doing. If so, did cavalry do the same?

Old Glory has 2 packs,charging(BXC-014) and reserve(BXC-015):

No pics, unfortunately, here or on the US site, but I'm pretty sure they are fore and aft.

Edit: Found a pic. Seems to be a mix:

Mark, that was a French infantry thing with hats being 'en colonne' or 'en bataille'. I understand that the British cavalry hats had chin straps or scales added (which the French did not) which would preclude moving them around.

Foundry have them:

I use Front Rank riders on Foremost horses. Regiments look excellent. I also have a regiment of Essex cavalry in Bicornes.

do I see that right – Foundry 3 mounted miniatures 12 Pounds, Perrys 8.50 pounds?

Yep.
