…Zombie Movie.

"Bad Robot has just hired a director to film a movie called Overlord, which is about American soldiers fighting Nazi zombies in World War II.

Julius Avery, who made the Ewan McGregor movie Son of a Gun, is that director, according to Variety. The idea comes from the mind of J.J. Abrams, director of The Force Awakens, and Billy Ray, who adapted The Hunger Games. Ray is writing the script.

Overlord follows American paratroopers who land just outside Normandy on D-Day. Their job is to knock out German communications. Instead, they run into some Nazi experiments, mainly zombies and other supernatural beings…"

Lame. Aren't we about done with the zombie fad?

Cyrus the Great06 Feb 2017 3:23 p.m. PST

I don't think fads last decades. And my guess is that I will enjoy this movie. I doubt (highly) it will be 'Casablanca' but I am sure it will be enjoyable.

Still waiting for Rob Zombie's "Werewolf Women of the SS" to go beyond being a trailer in "Grindhouse" and into a full-blown movie. I also agree that this zombie fad should be done with…

After the last few Abrams efforts, you can understand my hesitancy, I'm sure.

Outpost series covers this idea as well in both the present (Outpost 1 & 2) and WW2 (Outpost 3).

This is JJ Abrams. Any movie he makes about Normandy will mostly be a trailer for some future movie about Market-Garden or the Bulge. No. I don't think zombies will help.

I liked those Outpost movies.

What's this called – The Walking D-Day Dead?

Piquet Rules06 Feb 2017 7:40 p.m. PST

It would be even better, and more historical, if the US paratroopers had to fight zombie pirates.

Terry3706 Feb 2017 8:39 p.m. PST

I too like the Outpost movies, and especially the third one.

Why do they keep giving this guy chances, and why do people watch his trash?

GarrisonMiniatures07 Feb 2017 5:57 a.m. PST

'Why do they keep giving this guy chances, and why do people watch his trash?'

The second is the obvious reason for the first.

I'm sure I'll be seeing this. Liked both 'Dead Snow' films. 'Outpost' not so much.

Defender107 Feb 2017 9:24 a.m. PST

There are two Dead Snow films? How did I not know this? Off to IMDB!

Tango0107 Feb 2017 10:50 a.m. PST

I like Outpost movies also!

And Dead Snow of course too!

There are two Dead Snow films?

DS2 Red vs. Dead is even better than the original imho. Not only does it include Nazi and Commie zombies it's also a Star Wars fan film.

Will Rommel be cast as a gay black woman with a Hispanic surname?

Tango0108 Feb 2017 11:12 a.m. PST

In the second one they used a real Tiger!…

The "Tiger" tank in DS2 is a dressed-up T-55, not unlike the one in SPR. Nice paint job though.

What would be cool is if they make a movie set in Paolo Parente's 'Dust' universe.
