Kindly see the Reaper Miniatures home page reapermini.com --you may need to scroll down. They have announced that they do not now and never have, sculpted fur on any of their miniatures. It's all faux fur. Grelber |

To my eternally shame I have to admit that some of the Vikings Garrison used to make did use real metal wolfskins. However, I believe that the wolves used were cast using only humane methods and every care was made to ensure that only sustainably and ethically sourced metal (much of this being recycled) was used. During the melting process the metal was always carefully checked to avoid causing it any pain or distress. |

A bunch and Thegn some. |

Hmm, are fauxes better grilled or fried with biscuits and gravy? |

Those fauxes deserve it anyway--they're always chasing my poor cats. |

Cute little teddy bear fur. A holocaust of the gaming table. |

I was at a convention recently where some grown-ups were playing a WW2 game using teddy bear fur as part of the terrain. Luckily, there were no children in the room, but I would not want to be a parent trying to explain that to my child! |

Too funny Oberlindes. Let's hope those folks at Berkely don't show up at some of these conventions. What an uproar that would cause. Bet it would make abc news tonight |

Just wait till PETA discovers the Xyston and Hostis flaming pigs -
At least the Hostis porkers are shown in a pre-ignition phase -

I actually think none of my figures have furs modelled on them, so I guess I am compliant! |
etotheipi | 05 Feb 2017 9:55 a.m. PST |
Not only do I have figures wearing furs (various berserks, cavemen, post-apocalyptic types, etc.), but I have a few pulp miniatures of upper-class women wearing fur stoles. |

The Vikings and barbarians at least had the excuse of lack of options for cold-weather gear -- but, still, if you're out conquering territories, wouldn't it make sense to conquer places that are warm enough not to need fur, like the New Englanders and New Yorkers who conquered Florida in the 20th Century? The Vikings had the right idea in taking over Normandy, but if they'd just gone a bit farther* and taken over the Riviera, they would not have had to wear fur, except of course for premieres at Cannes -- and woe betide the PETA-person who tried to splash paint on a Viking. *OK, quite a bit farther, actually. |

Oh my god! That means that the miniatures depicting animals which I've bought from Reaper were agonisingly flayed alive and then had faux-fur pelts grafted onto their ravaged hides! Oh, the humanity! This goes a long way to explaining the less than sunny dispositions of the beast-men and lycanthropes which I have purchased over the years. While I like and patronise Reaper for their fantastic figures, I don't know that I can continue to support such a cruel re-furring policy as seems to be being implied by this superficially innocent announcement. Thank god PETA doesn't object to miniatures wearing feathers or animal claws or bone Structure! That could really cramp our collective style! What's? No, you're kidding! Those too. What is an ethical gamer to do in his or her quest to model widespread human murder and destruction in an animal friendly way? Thank god that humans are not animals or this hobby would be completely unethical! What? ….. Oh my god, nooooooooo! They're animals! What about insectoid aliens? Animals too? Whimper….. I guess this hobby is barbaric and doomed. I'm going to go out and grief-eat some veal schnitzel and pate de foie gras to mourne the loss of my beloved hobby! What? Well then binge eating some nice strawberry ice cream. Ground up insect shells? In ice cream, sob! Nooooooooo! Not my munchies too! Veganism? No, I'd kill myself first! What do you mean I have fur too? I'm balding for the love of god! So not even suicide is allowed to escape the vegan-PETA death-grip? This seems very unfair! Sigh! Sob. A broken man on a Halifax pier, the last of Reapers volunteers! Rod Robertson. |

That is hardly the least of your crimes, what about all of the genetic experiments you routinely conduct?
Not to mention the militarization of modified African fauna.
Have you no shame? |
