"Scientists just moved the Doomsday Clock a half-minute closer to midnight, so at least a few wary people have started pooling canned goods. Whether they're prescient or paranoid, members of the financial and elite in New York City and San Francisco are doing the same thing—preparing for the end of the world. Doomsday prepping has been a growing trend among the super-rich for the last decade, but the phenomenon has seen an uptick in the last year with political events exposing divisive tensions at home in the United States and around the world. Executives at Fortune 500 companies fear a range of catastrophes from full-scale nuclear war to a country-wide devastating cyber attack, and even a Bolshevik-type revolution caused by the breakdown of democracy. The concern is born out of alarming facts: acute income inequality, growing military tensions between superpowers, rising sea levels, and diminishing funds for Medicare and Social Security…." It's all just ultra-PC B.S.. Sure, we're in more danger now that when they didn't move the clock when Kennedy had his showdown with Cuba and Russia over the Cuban Missile Crisis. |

Yep, they think their money is going to save them. But I suspect they are going to die like the rest of us. -Will |

We're not in more danger, but we're definitely in danger from a larger variety of issues. -Will |

…watched a brief news story about wealthy preppers, seem some of them are buying into Doomsday Condo bunkers that even have their own armed security force…and I'm thinking, hmmm……guess I know who's in charge in that bunker!! |

Seriously the better way to to handle it would be have the site offer on-site accommodations for security member's families. That way the security force is already 'part of' the community, and the wealthy folks are investing the money to stockpile everything. -Will |

If they are stocking massive amounts of BBQ sauce, might want to avoid that area after the collapse… |

Amusing little story . The NY area wealthy "preppers " I am familiar with would never do an article telling everyone that are a prepper . Privacy is a deterrent . The serious ones have private islands in the tri-state(and Canada) area. One I was working with looked at Plum Island bt decided not to purchase because it is too public . It did have nice underground facilities -of course it had been used as a government animal research lab 9among other things ) They all have their own security forces , not someone else's. as to weaponry it truly is amazing what you can get your hands on if you have connections and money. |
