Can anyone suggest a Games Workshop or Vallejo paint colour/number that is a good match for the dark green of the rifle brigade in zzululand?

I know it should be almost black and not green, so I could mix my own but as I have a lot of figs to paint I'd prefer it out of the pot.

Thanking you all.

By the time of the Zulu war the rifle uniforms weren't almost black… they were black. They had given up on green entirely as green dye was notoriously unstable.

I thought they had rifle green jackets and blue trousers like the regular infantry.

So I should use black paint you think not a very dark green?

Glengarry503 Feb 2017 12:57 a.m. PST

Black, yes.

Try the Vallejo 980 Black-green.

I used Forest Green, 'cause I wanted it to be green.
