If you've never owned a copy of Jane's Fighting Ships or at least one of the Aubrey/Maturin series, this quiz probably isn't for you…" link Best of Luck! (smile) Amicalement Armand

There was a quiz on the link? As in something difficult? FWIW, a post-WWI event logically cannot be a WWI event. Q8 is Baal-constructed. |

Know nothing about modern naval stuff so got the last one wrong. Also disagree with answer to 6. The initial response was that Jellicoe had been too cautious, only when the official review had been completed and political factors had time to influence the result did the answer they accept become the case. |

10/13, but pretty happy as I haven't played a naval game in decades :) |

Yep, Gildas; that's what stumped me too. I had both answers in my head and didn't know which one was "officially" correct! So THERE, I scored a perfect 13 and I think I hear the phone ringing…The Country of Inner Mongolia want's to make me the New Commander in Chief of their Navy! So there! Pbbbt! |

Andrew – that's what comes from being a REAL naval nerd (and proud of it). We don't answer the questions, just criticise them !!! |

I made the answer I would have on Jutland in spite of the discussion above. Other than that a couple of educated guesses got me to 12. |

11/13 Also disagree about #6. Don't ask me why I didn't recognize the Typhoon. |

Also disagree with answer to 6. The initial response was that Jellicoe had been too cautious, only when the official review had been completed and political factors had time to influence the result did the answer they accept become the case. No, that was the initial response of the politicians. The question asked about the response of the naval authorities. |

Jutland as well – 12/13 due to forgetting what the "official" reason for the fleet's failure to crush the High Seas Fleet. |
Red Line | 07 Feb 2017 5:59 p.m. PST |
12/13 On the reason for Jutland's lack of decisiveness. Pretty sure I've seen all three reasons cited in books. |
