It's not often an old friend returns to our games, so for us on Lard Island, the return of Captain Richard Fondler, commanding the Light Company of the West Sussex, was a real treat. As some of you may have seen here: toofatlardies.co.uk/blog/?p=6432 we decided to run a campaign using our Dawns & Departures supplement. I was reminded just how much fun a campaign adds to a game, with the players really immersed in the story line. Anyway, the report of the game can be found here:

I have to say that watching story lines like this unfold is why I love wargaming. At this moment we cannot give you ALL of the information as the players will read it and it'll spoil their campaign, but I am keeping a diary for a full report at the end. Hope you enjoy the story so far.

What a splendid little action. I look forward to hearing a good deal more of this campaign – we're planning something similar set in the War of 1812 for later in the year.
