from Alternative Armies, and what rules do you use? I've got a few odds-and-ends (mostly dogmen) that I picked up years ago, and I am thinking that maybe DBN or HOTT would be a good set. I am not looking to spend lots of money or time painting hundreds of figures. The poodles and the sedan chair also really have grabbed my attention for another faction/country of dogmen. Edit: Maybe even Volley and Bayonet with 12-18 regimental stands. |

I am Spartacus. I use them with Flintloque, my own rules from Two Hour Wargames, Charge!, Tremble Ye Tyrants, and any other Napoleonic, Seven Years War or Colonial rules that catch my interest. Of these, my "95th", and then Flintloque use the least figures (3 to 20 or so oer side). Both games work with more figures as well. The other rules all work better with several 10 to 20 figure units per side. Bob |

No I am Spartacus….. I have a huge collection of figures and terrain for Flintloque. My favourite rule set is the Flintloque Lite rule set (a pamphlet with a figure catalogue to the rear) that I picked up free some years ago. It is a faster and less detailed version if the original Steve Blease and Matthew Hartley rule set that I find gives a simpler game. Tony |

I love the figures and am amassing various factions, but I am no use to you as I use the Slaughterloo rules which require a fair few models. What about Sharp Practice? |

I have lots of the miniatures. Although I have always been intrigued by a mass battle version, I would rather just build a bigger variety of six to ten-man sections. Maybe if they did a companion line in 15mm. Wait, that would be a horrible idea, forget I said that! I have played the Flintloque rules on and off since the get-go, but have used others more- including a perpetually tweaked version of "Green Jackets", a rulset I found on FreeWargameRulesUK ages back. I have also been thinking of trying out Sharp Practice, and Smooth & Rifled (which sounds like a brand of condom). I really never looked into FL Lite, Tony, I will check in on that. |

Slaughterloo and Flintloque. Thinking of using them for Blucher or Grand Armee. |

I have divisions for Slaughterloo and of course I can use them in Flintlouqe. On The Notables Yahoo Group which is devoted to Flintlouqe, Slaughterloo and the other Alternative Armies miniatures and rules there are some folks who have used the figures with Dragon Rampant. Me, I love the game of Slaughterloo and think it is sublime in its design. |

I put three Ostarian dogmen on a painting stick and primed them up. I'll paint them in the next day or two and see what I think about them. |

The dogmen are my favourites, love them, sooo much, loads of great sculpts. Hope you show them off when you finish them. |

Aside from using the 'official' rules, I think the best way is to approach them with Bob's attitude and use them with whatever rules you like. I'm currently planning big games using Black Powder but have started to think about revisiting Donald Featherstone's Skirmish Wargaming rules for smaller encounters. |
