Hello,

I am considering SP as an excuse to paint 28mm Napoleonics. The rules are in the mail.

I play bolt action and can say that to have good solid games one needs around 30 infantry, a couple of support weapons and a couple of vehicles.

Could someone let me what's roughly needed per army with a bit flexibility? I am planing to paint a few but do not want to paint a lot more than necessary.

Thank you

Line infantry are organised in Groups of 8 figures, skirmish troops in groups of 6, cavalry in 8 and guns have 5 crew. Leaders are separate.

A typical Force consists of 5 Groups of Line infantry and 2 Groups of Skirmishers so some 52 figures plus say 4-5 Leaders. Add in some support options and you are looking typically at around 60-70 figures.

If you check out some of the SP related posts on the Lard Island Forum you will see how the author put together his imagination 18th Century forces. The same principles hold good for Napoleonics
