Well regarded by Wellington, let's hear it for your KGL boys on the tabletop. Do you have units of them? What makes them fun to play with? Why did you build them to begin with? |

The cavalry were a lot more professional than their British counterparts. The Light battalions are a good alternative to endless 95th Rifles. Garcia Hernandez and the breaking of squares. The heroic (and tragic) defence of La Haie Sainte. Why build them? They're in Wellington's order of battle and if you want to do a representative mix, they've got to be in there. |

I built them for our club's idea of what if scenario for 1808 Russo-Swedish War; they were part of Moore's expedition which was supposed to be shipped to Finland. Been using them in Peninsular battles and I love being able to use non-impetuous cavalry :) |

I had some in 15mm decades ago. I was working on some Peninsular forces and wanted to paint something other than Brits. |

You can shout orders in a dreadful broken german accent. |

You don't need to paint a lot of them. |

Because they're the finest professional soldiers of the Napoleonic Wars--bar none. The took part in a roll call of famous battles. The castings are available. You never have to explain who they are, and if you have to explain how good they are, someone has exposed a lot of ignorance. |

I'll display some ignorance: in 15mm, how different are the uniforms from regular British line? I use Brits instead. |

You can paint the whole thing. I even have the Invalid Company! |

After I finish my Russians I think the KGL is next. |

Some of Wellingtons best troops and a small but highly effective force when used on its own in a wargame, steady infantry and colourfull and dashing cavalry. |

vtsaogames The KGL uniforms were pretty much the same except the 2 light battalions who each had uniform details unique to themselves. While the light infantry were dressed in rifle green most of them carried muskets. The light cavalry also were more often moustachiod than their English counterparts! |

And the heavy dragoons can wear the bicornes until very late in the period. Jim |

Also, there were rifle platoons in the line battalions so you had redcoated riflemen! |

Footslogger pretty much nailed it for me in the first response! |
