Down to $3.50 USD a pack. Jeez. That's super cheap.
I'm not shilling for them, even though I'm a huge fan. I was sort of bummed when the price went up to $4.25 USD, but this new price point is crazy good.

Now if O8 would just release some new Napoleonics, or SYW/WSS.

This is good news for my wallet. Thanks for posting.

I am super tempted but how do you cut the -super- hard metal? :/

Weasel29 Jan 2017 12:22 p.m. PST

I'd happily shill for Pico, their figures are flat out amazing.

forwardmarchstudios29 Jan 2017 12:26 p.m. PST

Its easy once you get the hang of it. The metal is hard, but also somewhat snappy. All you need to do to clean the bayonet flash is to press the flash against a table until it snaps off. No cutting required, and the bayonets never break off. To snip a strip just use wire snips- its actually easier than soft metal. All you need to do is get the tip of the snips on the base, then wrap your hand around it and squeeze. The strip will cut in half cleanly and go flying. Watch your eyes.

I took advantage of the new price with a purchase of 3mm modern troops yesterday.

Desert Fox29 Jan 2017 12:49 p.m. PST

The only thing holding me back is I would like to see the O8 do the following in 3mm…

tricorne foot, horse and arty crew
bicorne horse
mitre foot and horse
7 years war grenadiers

I would sell off all my 6mm, 15mm and HAT figures for the above in 3mm.

Email Marcin! :)

I would love it if they did tricornes. You could do up some really awesome looking WSS units at 1:1, not to mention SYW. The uniform cut in the two wars might be an issue precluding dual-use.

Ideally he would throw in some troops with pikes and winged hussars and set us up for the Great Northern War. That would blow peoples minds.

They have horse in Bicornes.

I've also found that using a photo etch snipper works well for removing flash from Pico minis.

Magister Militum do some very good tricornes in 3mm. I should know, I sell them :-)

I love it.

Thanks for the note.

forwardmarchstudios29 Jan 2017 2:49 p.m. PST

That is true, the MM line is nice. And they do winged hussars! :)

They were cheap to begin with.

forwardmarchstudios29 Jan 2017 6:23 p.m. PST

True.
The numbers now are pretty darn good.
For instance, you can do Polk's Corps at Chickamauga at 6:1, 2000 figures, for $56. USD That's not too shabby, and you could have it painted up in an afternoon. I'm tempted to order this up and knock out a how-to.

My wishlist is skirmishers in bicornes …..
Artillery train in bicorne would be nice too

I can verify excellent service from Picoarmor

Depending where you are "side-cutters" may be the name of the tool you're looking for to cut the straps apart. I found some micro ones that work great. I just cup what I'm cutting in my hand to keep things from flying into the next room. I use small pliers to break off the flash.

boy wundyr x31 Jan 2017 4:15 p.m. PST

Oh and my wishlist has completion of the WWI line, some scenics (livestock, generic civilians), and maybe some filler for the 19th century, e.g. the Mexican-American War.

forwardmarchstudios31 Jan 2017 6:56 p.m. PST

Spiky helmets based like ACW zuoves would almost give us the Franco Prussian War, right? That would lend itself well to 3mm.

boy wundyr x01 Feb 2017 10:44 a.m. PST

Yup, sounds right!

This is almost too tempting.

Does MM and Pico match up with each other pretty well?
