I have a copy of the Juggernaut edition of these rules. There is no Armada supplement. Could anyone tell me if the supplement is made up of appropriate ship stats only, or if there are any variants to the main rules? Many thanks in advance. |

Found mine. It is copyright 1976 by Battleline. All I have is a mimeographed 4 page supplement which I obtained where? You are basically designing your own ships so you will have to do some research. There are charts for typical ships instead of specifics. One such is for percentages of weapons employed by English or Spanish Navies. Basically 70% of guns on contemporary English ships are Minions (MiniAns? hard to read) of 3 to 4 pounds shot weight while Spanish ships would be about 30% with 29% of guns would be Pedreras of 24 to 25 ponds shot weight which fired stone balls. There are also some Armada period specific game tables, weapon characteristics, crew combat factors and wind force tables. I will see if I can scan and get an OCR on these rules. If not I will see how clear the scans are. Do you have any other info which might give characteristics for specific ships whether game orineted or general like displacement, number and sizes (types) of guns etc.? I know a few companies produced navy lists but don't know about this period. Thank you. Let me see what I get from these pages before I arrange email or if I can post them somewhere for anyone. Is there a "files' section here? Maybe boardgamegeek. Stephen |

I have the original 4 page supplement tho the print on it is tiny (or my eyes are old :-) ). Like stephen says, rules and charts for guns, sails, and crews, windforce chart and some sample ship records on the last page. If Stephen's scans are not clear, I can scan my set. |

Thankyou both for the speedy replies. I have a hankering to do the Armada with a rule-set I'm familiar with. I'd be very grateful if a scan could be arranged; my e-mail address is: charla51[AT]live[DOT]co{DOT]uk And boardgamegeek might be a good place to put them. Again, many thanks for you troubles. |

BB If yours is clear could you post it somewhere? Mine is poor quality a well as somewhat small. Still if anyone has info on ships themselves that would be great. Stephen |

Stephen, I have several general books on the development of English ships, and some of the Osprey books specific to the period. But none give information on ships in a systematic sort of way. Although it has just come to me that a set of Armada rules on the freewargames rules site has some stats in table form. I can't recall the title, but it has 'Armada' in it somewhere. |
