I was wondering if there would be any interest among the folks (and especially our Editor) for a Board where people could post things they have and are willing to give away or trade for. Unlike our Marketplace, no money would change hands just figures and/or bits. I recently put on a post asking if anyone had any extra OG 7YW Brits they could spare. The responder didn't want cash, rather he asked what I may have that he could use. 2 extra Perry AWI sprues left my place and about 20 lead figures arrived to complete my unit (I only needed 5 or so, but he was most generous). With the popularity of plastic figures these days there are always extra hats, heads, arms, weapons, bases, etc. collecting dust (or worse…tossed out) that a fellow gamer could really use. Like I said this would be a strictly "Bit for Bit" trades or "Bits For Free". Participants wouldn't even ask for P&H, this would be a completely magnanimous effort to promote a hobby we all love. THOUGHTS? P.S. I don't know how to get this to our Editor's attention…any help would be appreciated . |

Given that folk might swap across historical periods and also given the low number of active trade offers. would it not make sense to combine these into a single board? |

I concur with your assessment, but how can we have more boards if we consolidate them? |

I'd love just one swap board. I don't have time to check them all. I'd also like to be able to post something like this: HAVE: 28mm painted FIW skirmish, unpainted 15mm ACW, Conquest of the Empire boardgame, mint WANT: 1/144 tanks, old Ral Partha/Grenadier Fantasy, Perry Samurai You are more likely to cobble together mutual deal that way. You are also more likely to make an impulse swap of something you'll never finish for something you would never have thought of buying otherwise. |

I read tmp from the front page. Thus all the exchange boards are visible. There is such a slow rollover with them they stay up for a few weeks. Since I turn off few boards I see no issue. For me! |

In Lucius's hypothetical scenario above, the chance of two compatible exchangers is very low. I'd rather sell. |

Nobody uses the exchange boards. Why not combine them and see what happens? I think that you'd be suprised. Increased volumes can drive a moribund market. |

Thanks all. I wasn't aware of the Exchange board(s). I guess I wanted to state what Lucius put most clearly. Having one as he described was what I was thinking. Seeing needs/available's on a single page might well stimulate interest. Thanks for clarifying Lucius… |
