Anyone have experience with both of these? I really like the look of Dungeon Saga over the new version of Warhammer Quest, which is too specific to GW's "Age of Sigmar" (and costs three times as much). But I'm interested in a simple game with an "AI" component for complete co-op play, rather than the "Overlord" approach. (Yes, I have the D&D board game, and I don't like it at all.) Mantic states that an "AI" style expansion is at least in the works. Anyone know anything about this? |

The "AI" rules and cards were shipped with the original Dungeon Saga kickstarter. I don't know how playtested or solid the solo system was for that release, but the later "Star Saga" kickstarter also promised a solo play system. |

Haven't played the AI but have played with flesh and blood opponents. Here's a quick video review that matches our experience. link I even won a free copy of the game several months after having played it and won't use it. Going to give it to a buddy to cannibalize it for Frostgrave minis and terrain and that's about it. |

The Invisible Overlord and Uncharted dungeon stuff is in the Adventurers Companion. I've only had the chance to try it once and I found it can give a very tough game! I suppose it has to because it has to make up for the inventivenes of the the Flesh and Blood Overlord. Now I usually am the overlord and in the normal missions I've never seen the Heroes struggle much in terms of the fighting- if they lose it becaue they ran out of time, or rather more rarely because they let one hero get isolated and couldnt rescue him before he had the snot kicked out of him. By contrast with the UD and UO rules most of my heroes were down to their last wound before I'd even got to the second of 5 rooms! Luckily healing potions are much more plentiful! Now I gather that it won't always be that tough, it is very much the luck of the draw as to whether you get an easy stroll through the dungeon or something a bit more grueling. Overall though DS is one of my favourites. |

While I like dungeon saga, I am having to downsize my games. I have all the expansions plus kickstarted exclusives. If anyone is interested I'm selling it all for $225 USD plus shipping in the USA. Send me an email andersintl at Aol dot com Matthew |
