May I interrupt this dance for a brief mea culpa?

Back on page 2,I posted R.Crumb's "Let's Eat" cartoon. This got me my first trip to the Dawghouse. After explaining to Bill that it was intended to be a light-hearted response to a previous post suggesting possible cannibalism in there, I was let out.

However,if you have to explain something you posted,you're not communicating very well. Although my post wasn't meant to mock or attack anyone, I can see in retrospect how that,together with my previous post, could certainly be taken that way.

Therefore,to Legion 4, or anyone who was offended, I offer my apologies.

I'll try harder to keep my natural exuberance from getting in the way of sense!

I got a right skelpin' from the Moderator for accidentally misnaming Wolverton. Virtually a spelling error & with no thought of malice, it gave me a beamer to act like such a bampot.

actually,I would disagree, the root cause is that Legion 4 keeps making statements that are interpreted by many as 'racist' in nature. If Legion 4 needs to understand the repeated 'dog-hawsing' then he should look to why people think his statements are racist.

When called a racist, no one is going to proudly proclaim, "Yes, I am an ignorant, unjust and ungodly fool."

Another reason though is that racism is becoming more socially unacceptable. Labelled such for their outré pronouncements,they care because it can affect their livelihood. Now, you can get fired for those beliefs that you rant about on Facebook and Twitter. Imagine if you were guilty of racist rants & worked in law & order or the prison system. You'd find yourself issuing an apology as you cleaned out your desk, carrying your potted plant down the stairs.

They only care because we as a society are holding them accountable for their words. However, instead of learning from their mistakes, they go on to believe they are the real victims, and go out of their way to prove that it is everyone else that is the racist.
