The last game of Lion Rampant ended, as usual, with dice everywhere. The dice trays we have are far too large to put on the table. Then it hit me.

Use a resin building with a removable roof as a dice tray. Sprinkle around the edge of the table as needed. Roof on – picture time, the dice are hidden. Roof off, time to roll yer bones!

My group uses a dice tower that looks like a fortified tower.

Some buildings even come with a flat roof and sides to keep the dice in. Even less are detachable too. For picture time.

Resin buildings, fortified dice towers, flat roofs… pish posh!

I prefer to use my opponent's closest troop formation as my dice tray.

You got an honest to goodness laugh out loud on that one, thanks!

Rolling a dozen dice at a time, you want a building with a walled yard.

But on the SF end, someone actually makes a building/dice tower, with part of one wall hinged to provide the tray. And on TMP, someone will remember who.

Zoneofcontrol for the win.

My wife gave me a soft Millenium Falcon lunchbox once. It immediately became my convention dice tray.

The dice tower I have doesn't take up too much room. I've also used a octagonal box that housed a terrific fruitcake as a dice tray.

I keep telling myself to make a few of these
For each period, so they don't look out of place.
A mediaeval fortified tower would be silly on the north west frontier and vice versa

I have two buildings/dice towers that we use for our Spanish city board. It helps a lot if you like plenty of terrain. I picked them up from a guy in Wally's Basement at Historicon. He does great stuff!
