In the ACW game A House Divided…. crak units are subject to a minus 1 fire modifier. If they are entrenched there is also a -1, so, do these modifers accumulate to add up to -2…. if so most units could only be hit on a score of 1 ???

Yes, the penalties are cumulative. It may make it impossible to hit other units. Example: a militia infantry unit (combat value 2) firing at a crack unit in entrenchments can't hit.

This is based on the Phalanx Games edition of the game.

Yup. It is a weird game. It has some very good things, and it is a very nice representation of the war, but man can you lose easily, especially as the North. It rewards very cautious play.

I enjoy the game. It's easy to learn and fun to play.

It does make a very good campaign system for Fire & fury

Big Union problem: surviving 1862. If you aren't careful Rebel cavalry can get into major northern cities.

All the games our group has played, the South only hung on to win one time. We can't get volunteers to play the rebs anymore.
