Assuming you mean ancient galleys, and by smaller scale you mean like 1/1200, 1/600, etc….. Other than rudimentary game pieces, none that I know of in any scale other than 1/72.

If you mean Renaissance galleys, then the answer is the same save for one or two "Realle" kits in the 1/450 area.

Keep an eye out for the rudimentary game pieces. They show up in flea markets sometimes, they paint up reasonably well--and the Russians are right: "quantity has a quality all its own."

I second the recommendation of game pieces. They are available fairly regularly on ebay. You should also note that you can at times buy a full game that has galleys in it for a price which makes the galleys quite affordable. Check eBay and the marketplace on Board Game Geek.

Not sure what the exact scale is but they are between an inch and two long.

That might very well be the best wargame deal I've seen in a very long time!

CinC offered a set at one time. Forgot the scale but they were really small but in metal. Very reasonably priced, IIRC.

Here you go, painted about 60 a few years back. All from the Conquest of Empire game. They come with masts, I took off most of them. If you need some let me know I might have some I can sell you.

I'm considering getting a few packs of these to paint up and give the Poseidon's Warriors rules a try. If you don't mind, D6 Junkie, could you share some of your techniques prepping the base models for painting? Is it easy to remove the fiddly bits on deck and still get a decent surface? Is basing required for the model to stand properly? I'd appreciate any other tips/pitfalls.

Many thanks!
