Today a small report about the fabolous 1:6 figures of napoleonic soldiers Marius Niemietz showed on an exhibition in the Military Museum in Dresden.
Report in german and english.
Maybe you can find inspiration for costumizing and weathering your own figures.

You could do some skirmish gaming with those in your backyard.

Yet another figure that neglects to take into account the effects of bad dye lots, sun, campaigning and disrupted supply lines. ;-D

Going to cost a lot for a battalion…

But lovely stuff – fun and nostalgic (even though I guess the guy doing them doesn't feel that way)

I hate to be a dork about this but the uniform cloth is overscale, so the folds and creases are. Like Thunderbirds puppets, it is clear you're looking at a doll / marionette.

Interesting exercise though. If you made the uniforms out of something like silk maybe the creases would be less conspicuous.

I can't remember why I never thought to do skirmish games with these when I had them as a kid. Well, properly, rather than shouting 'bang' a lot.

4th Cuirassier wins they should have used a 1/6 19th century loom and little tiny sheep to make the Uniforms.

Doll vs. Action Figure vs. Miniature…

My wife calls them all "Toys" so why shouldn't we?

She's not wrong.

At last – some sanity. Yep, they are all TOYS

And we play with them
