Wondering if anybody who has the TSS (total scenic systems ) Green tiles, has tried painting them?, wondering if i could paint over the green, converting into a urban tile (grey paint)

Cheers Jeff, thats a good post, im wondering if it would just take paint without sand/pva??

Jeff96523 Jan 2017 11:06 a.m. PST

Yes mate I'm sure it would, it's just the sand and pva make the surface rock hard which gives a better element of protection. I'm sure I'm teaching my granny to suck eggs when I say that the paint you use needs to be water based as oil based paint will melt the polystyrene :)

Yes. I painted mine with brown fence paint then dry brushed etc. The pain binds the TSS flock together and gives a harder wearing surface than the basic tiles.

We turned lots of ours upside down and painted them with grey and PVA….worked a treat,

Good piece by Diane Sutherland on this very subject in the latest Miniature Wargames (406).
