In 2013 there was a famous exhibition in the german Military Museum in Dresden about the "German Wars of Liberation". Last week I buyed the catalog of the exhibition, and I began to organize my own pictures. Now there is a little report and I want to show you some pictures. Report in german and in english. link

I see many of the exhibits are from La Musee de l'Armee in Paris. There was a long spell when the 1815 section was closed, which may have allowed things like Marbot's outfit to travel. Wonderful collection. Thanks That is the first convincingly Napoleonic era French Shako Rouleau that I have seen. I had begun to doubt whether it was purely a second restoration thing, reflected in the work of later artists. Even Marbot's is not truly cylindrical |
