I would like to buy tokens for unbuttonedness (open hatch with tank commander watching out): half-figure of commander in open hatch.

Would be best if such hatch would be a bit bigger then typical closed hatch (typical for tank type and nation), with small concavity on the base to put over normal, closed (buttoned) hatch.

Is it doable? What do You think?

I drilled a small hole in the closed hatch, then put a fairly long pin into the bottom of the tank commander figures. When the hatch is unbuttoned, I put the tank commander on the hatch by putting the pin through the hole. When the tank buttons up, I remove the figure. The hole really isn't noticeable, especially if you do he camo fight.

Interesting ideas both. For my part, I usually use an exposed TC to indicate which tank is the commander of the unit. But I like the idea of TC exposed/buttoned. I was thinking of just using a dismounted crew figure perched on the engine deck to represent "exposed."

Could you do up the model with closed hatch and then use a painted TC with a small bit of Blue Tac on the bottom? You'd have to cut/file off the bottom of pin of the figure and also would not have the opened hatch but may work otherwise.

Best tank commander token figure:

Already unbuttoned.

Umpapa, your idea is doable. Just use some blue tac or other method to keep it in place.

The drill and pin is easy to administer.

A bit more work I've been doing in 15mm is a magnet under each hatch, or in open hatvh well, and tiny magnet in base of command figures.

My first thought was to use a bottlecap that fits over the cdr's hatch. Glue the tank commander on top, hatch covers carved out of plastic, paint same color with open hatch black. Marker without modifying the tank. I use the tank commander to mark the platoon command tank.

Thank You for all comments.

I would love to buy such tokens.
Figure of half-figure inside open hatch, casted together.

Maybe someone will produce…?

Or you could put a tiny button behind a tank to show it lost its button!
