Thanks for the "look back". It brings back all my early memories of wargaming.

I had no idea these figures could be painted to this standard. I always imagined the intended, nostalgic, "toy soldier", look deliberately went for the simpler finish.

What a great looking and nostalgic game in every aspect -- figures, painting style, terrain, and buildings! It takes me back to my first real Napoleonic games in the early 1970s.

Thanks for the memories!

Forgive me, for my cheek, if I post one more of your pictures to show the quality of what is achieved here. Look at this retinue;

And that is why the OSW nostalgia is so powerful. The painting can evoke the look of a more detailed figure, but with style and panache. These figures have real flair, and TBH actually look better than many a hyper realistic figure. The painting is almost impressionistic and much more effective than perhaps it would be if done in a more modern style.

I think grin

But lovely, aren't they

Yes. Fantastic. I am used to doing laced stripes across dolmans and pelisses, when the manufacturer has casted them in wonderful relief for me…

but see every stripe on the hussars above….not one single one has a smudge….
