Would Team Yankee rules work for Modern African Wars with some tweaking? Any plans on BF expanding to different theaters?

I doubt they'll do African Wars anytime soon.

Far more likely, in my opinion, to do Korea, and Ultramoderns.

I don't see why the current TY rules, and/or those for Vietnam and the Middle East wouldn't work.

Just about any WWII or modern rules would work for Bush Wars with a little tweaking.

I would imagine TY would work for the SADF/Angolan border wars. For the lower intensity, less organize conflicts (such as the Tanzanian/Ugandan war), I'd go with something like AK47 Republic.

I'd second AK-47 Republic

Vietnam seems like the perfect mix, with insurgents, and mismatched forces.

I would imagine TY would work for the SADF/Angolan border wars.

This was expressly mentioned as a possibility in an interview by Peter Simonovich, one of Battlefront's principals.

But if it happens it will probably be done after they've revamped their Arab Israeli Wars rules to the TY system.

Do they intend to revamp the Arab Israeli Wars? That was dead on the vine where I am at.

Seriously?
Honestly , I cant recall the last time Ive seen 'any' FOW game at my LGS. There 'may' have been 'A' game or two of the Vietnam war, but I dont know of a single game of the Arab Israeli war played here.

Though its never been said by anyone locally, I had the same feeling as *79thPa regarding both 'Viet' and "A I" games in general.

Coincidentally, just had the first AK47-escque game with some Peter Pig figures that have been too long in the box. A few pictures here:

When TY came out there were some interviews with BF people, including one of the principals (Peter Simunovich) in which they said that the plan was to revise the AI wars using the TY rules and expand the time period to include 1973.

Simunovich also said in the interview that one of the things he'd like to do is the South African-Angola War.

Whether any of this actually happens, or when, is of course fairly speculative.
