It's cheap, but is it any good?

Just as it says. Anyone have suitable test models for me to print?

Got mine today as well, but haven't been able to get it to update.

Mine arrived as well. Anybody know how to remove that stupid short piece of white filament?

Looking forward to getting mine shortly, followed by the problems that a lot of backers seem to be having ;)

That's not filament, that's the feed tube for the filament. If you manage to get it out, you're fooked.

Printing the test object now. First attempt failed horribly, just a bizarre jumble of string. Manually calibrated and I think that the nozzle may not have bee warm enough.

A lot of folks are reporting that it pints much better at lower temperatures, 180 or 185. YMMV, others report excellent results at higher temps.

E-mail on the way for the STL. Thanks!

Yeah, I figured that out. These are the worst instructions I've seen since I worked for the federal government. Will try lowering the temp after my network engineer son gets done playing with the filament feed.

emckinney,
you may have trouble with the models I sent you. I have read up a bit about the printer. The problem is the software provided does not apply supports. That means you would have to draw them in yourself or use an open source slicer. I think it said Cura would work for delta printers.

Cheers Brian

If you use Cura, make sure you get all the machine settings put in properly, build area size, filament size, extruder size and keep the intial speed at a slower pace. Cura works well once you have the settings properly dialed in. I looked online to see if anyone had posted a TIKO CURA profile but couldn't find any after a quick look. You also should check the manufacturers recommendation for the proper temperature to use on the PlA in your printer.

I was looking on the net and there have been lots of upgrades on the software (about 1 a week). Best to check you are up to date.
