I am wondering if anyone knows if Wargames Foundry is out of business? They are not answering their emails.

Mako1118 Jan 2017 7:06 p.m. PST

I suspect not.

It is the new year, so perhaps they're busy raising prices with those little sticker labels.

Zagloba18 Jan 2017 7:12 p.m. PST

From a previous post here, they posted on their Facebook page that they have had email problems. Everyone on the other thread agreed that the best way to reach them was to call, as they rarely answered email anyway.

On a related topic, what's the cheapest way to call the UK from the US currently?

LongshotGC Supporting Member of TMP18 Jan 2017 7:29 p.m. PST

I placed a pretty large order with them just before Christmas to take advantage of their sale and received the entire thing, nothing missing, shortly after the new year began.

I suspect, like others have said, they are just busy with some things…especially if they're having e-mail problems.

Stryderg18 Jan 2017 7:38 p.m. PST

Zagloba –
Skype maybe, but it's been quite a while since I looked into it.

sillypoint18 Jan 2017 7:41 p.m. PST

If they had a whatapp account….😜
Then you can use the Internet…

coopman18 Jan 2017 8:04 p.m. PST

They couldn't afford to go out of business.

I think a lot of plans are offering free calls to the U.K. these days.

clifblkskull18 Jan 2017 9:51 p.m. PST

I placed an order Dec 16th and have not received it yet.
No replies to 3 email attempts.

What a drag!

Made an order in late Nov. Nothing has arrived. We called this am. They said their computer was down and it would be Monday before they would be ready again.

For a business who probably gets the majority of their orders over the internet these computer issues seem to be lingering for quite some time. Having worked for almost 20 years in the IT industry I don't recall any customer ever reporting having an outage lasting that long.

Was there an ECM attack in that part of the UK that totally destroyed all infrastructure that never made the news? Or is their email server located somewhere along the Amazon River?

I finally had enough and filed a dispute with PayPal today for my order.

I do wish them the best though.

I'm guessing it'll be awhile before I try them again.

Please Bill do not allow this sort of thread heading. It may be valid for people to ask about a company. This however is aimed at maximum attention for their perceived worry/panic without any thought for the consequence. Otherwise we can expect headings starting with "Is x dead?"
If however this person had phoned foundry and been told the phone was disconnected then he should make further enquiries about status.
This is very much a me, me, me mail.

"I sent an e mail to friend in California two days ago and have not had a reply. is California fallen into the St Andreas fault? Thought i would post here first before making further enquiry!""

Come on!

Chokidar19 Jan 2017 3:05 a.m. PST

I am not dead.. am I?

steamingdave4719 Jan 2017 4:11 a.m. PST

@ Doctor X, not sure about Foundry's bit of the UK, but where I live we have regular outages. My neighbour recently lost his internet for about 5 weeks after a major problem in the electrical supply fried most of the electronics in his house.
I am also with Martin Goddard, a less sensational headline would still have had folks looking at the thread.

Militia Pete19 Jan 2017 5:44 a.m. PST

Ordered a Christmas order and got it in full. No complaints. I hope they do not have satellite internet. It stinks….

Ivan DBA19 Jan 2017 7:12 a.m. PST

Bill -

I agree with Martin Goddard. This type of thread heading should not be allowed. It's tantamount to defamation. The OP knows very well that Foundry is not out of business. He's just using a provocative title to get attention.

foxweasel19 Jan 2017 7:23 a.m. PST

Doctor X, I live near Foundry, the building is in the middle of nowhere in rural Nottinghamshire. We constantly have internet issues. I sent a load of emails from my house to my work account, when I got to work they hadn't come through.

Joes Shop Supporting Member of TMP19 Jan 2017 7:46 a.m. PST

Completely agree with Martin Goddard.

axabrax19 Jan 2017 8:18 a.m. PST

Also agree with Martin. This topic's title amounts to trolling at best and slander on the company in question at worst. Delete it.

Likewise companies that do not answer enquiries and do not fill orders should have their accounts locked to protect the TMP membership.

GW customer service has not called me back. Is Games Workshop out of business?

Chokidar19 Jan 2017 10:21 a.m. PST

The Prime Minister has not called me back…. ergo…

I am glad you can relax Martin, so can I then…

Martian Root Canal19 Jan 2017 10:51 a.m. PST

I ordered twice before Christmas and received both orders in full. I am in the US.

teboj1719 Jan 2017 11:49 a.m. PST

Is it me or does when a manufacturer or retailer responds to someones issues on TMP it lessens my opinion of them. Seems the manufacture should handle any issues privately. By handling it here on a public forum it (to me) shows un-professionalism.

Like others have said in this day and age online business is mostly email based. It might be difficult for someone in another country to contact a manufacture/retailer by phone.

Be it that the heading could have been worded better, all Martin had to say (and keep is professionalism about him) is that they are having email issues or have been on holiday or some other issue that might be delaying their responses, and that he would be looking into it.

Did you give this person in California Money and are expecting goods from them?

again?

My order arrived today
One month after I submitted it and during Christmas break
They are just catching up it seems.

I moved house just over a year ago and lost my interest connection for 8 weeks in the middle of organising trade stands for Salute.

It does happen…

Cerdic19 Jan 2017 11:51 p.m. PST

Teboj17 – I don't think Martin has any connection with Foundry. He was expressing a personal opinion. No one from Foundry has replied in this thread.

martin goddard Sponsoring Member of TMP20 Jan 2017 2:55 a.m. PST

I think teboj17's point was that traders should not reply on forums because it lessens his opinion of them?

teboj1720 Jan 2017 6:39 a.m. PST

My apologies, I miss-associated Martin with Foundry. My point I was trying to make is that traders should not get into arguments and try to assert their opinion on others in a public forum. I have seen this a bunch of times where traders argue and try to prove their point or view and it just ends up making them look bad, and in some cases lessens my opinion on them and their company. Be it that they might be right, trying to argue with some is pointless sometimes.

Agreed tebo, thanks

martin

Cerdic20 Jan 2017 9:31 a.m. PST

No worries teboj!

I agree that traders should always act in a professional manner, by the way!

nazrat21 Jan 2017 8:57 a.m. PST

Although there is always the danger of alienating a potential customer by participating in a thread here, I think traders have every bit as much right as anyone else to express their opinions on pretty much anything they want. I certainly don't think Martin's opinion was anything to get fussed about.

Plus I agree with him. The title was hyperbolic and should have been phrased differently.

My Casting Room order is coming up on a month, Monday, I think.

I have no idea how closely affiliated they truly are to Foundry.

Judge Doug07 Feb 2017 12:29 p.m. PST

Did Foundry ever get these issues resolved? I've always been right on the fence about ordering from them, but it seems like they have the worst customer service and a spotty track record of actually delivering orders. It's 2017, they should be able to spend forty seconds updating their website with "orders delayed by x weeks" and not requiring people to call internationally or write Self-Addressed-Stamped-Envelopes for replies.
