Gentlemen, I am about to purchase figures for the Philippine/Moro war and I was would like to know if all of the Insurrectos had firearms and if not what would the proper mix of rifles and hand weapons. Also would it be correct for the Insurrecros to fire as Zulus or Egyptians? |

You're dealing with two different wars. After Spain (as well as beforehand) you had the nationalist movement that was armed and uniformed mush like he Spanish as well as the Moro tribes. Both forces could be used against the US or the Spanish. |

Firearms were relatively plentiful amongst the insurrectos, if often obsolete, during the conventional phase of the Philippines War, but in short supply during the later guerilla phase, when bolo men generally outnumbered shooters by a large margin. |

Check out the ''Real Glory'' it is a 1939 Samuel Goldwyn Productions action film starring Gary Cooper, David Niven. Again it depends on which period you are looking at. also check out recreationalconflict.com East of Java range. |

Philippinos: many if not firearms but depending also on "bolo charges" ..with "bolo only" units used as flanking/ambush units while the main force fix the ennemy with low coordinated fire..maybe fire like Dervishes Moros: few or badly used fireamrs but great use of edge weapons (kriss-barong ecc..) with very good effect..fanatical units..fire as zulus i strongly suggest you those 2 books both for scenarios, tactic, armament ecc… link probably available also on PDF on line and this one link very detailed on various Philippine insurgents mouvments |

Even during the conventional phase of the war US forces suffered low casualties due to the insurrectos' poor marksmanship. They invariably fired high. |
