Is the Freepeople in the Age of Sigmar going to be expanded, by making some new Bretonnian type models?
Or are they phasing out the Freepeople?

I don't know that anyone knows this yet. The Free people are certainly not going away. The model in the Silver Tower boxed set probably guarantees that. I don't think the Bretonnians are coming back any time soon though.

I really appreciate a company that makes my army irrelevant after years of buying their product and painting same (not to mention running leagues tournaments teaching game etc.)

Very glad that DBX exists so that I don't have to give such a company another penny. (Helps too that the current line of figures is awful.)

Your army isn't irrelevant. You can still play that army in Age of Sigmar. They have even given you the rules to play it for free. What are you talking about?

I think the newest stuff is brilliant. I've bought more stuff for fantasy since AoS came out than I did in the previous 10 years combined.

Do they let you play with your old miniatures at their stores?

Our local GW let you play with anything in your army as long as 50% of it was GW. I have heard stories of far more stringent rules on this, but those are probably limited to stores with little competition and a high demand for tables.

I would think GW will avoid coming out with any new forces that can be so easily replicated by cheaper miniatures like the Bretonnians. You MIGHT see Bretonnians reissued in limited runs to capture the collector market, assuming there is some profit in it. The new HQ brain trust seems to be more open to such ideas.

The last time I was at the local GW someone was playing a Bretonnian army. I'm not sure how it is since the General's Handbook came out but the Bretonnian free list was one of the most competitive armies going for wound based lists.

My Bretonnians (small and in-progress though they are) will work just fine with the 6th Edition rules and armies that I've got.

And when I play AoS with my son I use Stormcast and he uses Khorne Khornate Bloody Blood Bloodspillers or whatever they're called!
