Other than TFL and BaB, what skirmish level rules are out there? Looking for a fun, simplistic set that can be wrapped up in about 2 to 3 hours. |

I played a Napoleonic skirmish that was quick and fund to play using the 'FiveCore' rules by Nordic Weasel games. I intend to use them for the ACW as well. |

There is also "The Sword and Secession" which is a variant of "The Sword and the Flame" rules. It is designed for gaming small cavalry actions, naval landings, and foraging operations of the Civil War. You can order them from Sergeants3 [ sergeants3.com/18.html# go to 3rd page]. Since I helped in the development, I'm partial to these rules. Here are a couple of play test reports of the rules: link link Jim |

Sharp Practice are excellent rules for numerous periods including the civil war. I have a selection of Dixon figures that I am painting to use with these rules. |

I found Smooth & Rifled are a good choice. But as Herkybird says for free you can download State of War which I find them good fun and have used many times… link |

Another endorsement for Ganesh games 61-65. So glad I found this rule set. You won't be disappointed. It doesn't get the credit it deserves. For $8 USD well worth making your own mind up on it. |
