I gathered that most of the HEIC and British and thus mutineer guns were painted a bluish- grey with black metal fittings. Others were left in a natural wood colour.
Many of those guns have two seats next to the barrel . The frames are obviously metal but what about the seats themselves? Were the padded with anything (Leather? fabric,)or just plain metal (or wood)? And if they were padded which colour would that padding have?

The only other color image I found is a painted set of figures on eBay and he painted the pads an off white.

Thanks very much guys. Obviously they were padded (stands to reason) I'll go for a very worn off- white.
The guns I'm currently painting are in fact Iron Duke models.grin
